ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Rome I. Mubarak

WRITER .PRODUCER .DIRECTOR

Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Rome I. Mubarak has lived a life defined by curiosity, creativity, and a refusal to be boxed in. As an African American man with a global perspective — having lived abroad and owned international real estate — he brings an outside-in view to the stories he tells about his own country and its people.

His love of film and photography stretches to childhood, making history as the first African American camera salesman at Fedco in Los Angeles as a teenager. From capturing moments on the high school yearbook staff to studying on the Director's track at UCLA Extension, Rome has pursued the craft with quiet, unwavering dedication.

Today, with several completed screenplays and short films to his name, Rome is actively developing his projects into feature films and episodic television — driven by a singular mission: to tell stories that deserve to be heard, and to build a more equitable future for independent cinema.
